My son is 19 years old and for about the last year has had terrible pain in his upper stomach. It comes and goes at any time of the day or night. he has had a colonoscopy, an ultra sound and cat scan and numerous blood work.....the doctor can find nothing wrong with him........i heard there is a new test calleds a HIDA scan that can take a better look at his gall bladder.....every I talk to thinks that it may be his gall bladder and that the hida scan is the only true test that can determine if it is indeed his gall bladder......would you recommend we ask to have the test done, it is so frustrating to pay out more money when all the tests so far have not helped at all....he is getting ready to go back to college and I hate to send him back with the problem still unsolved... thansk for your help !
and i've had abdominal pain like that with other abominal pain. I had a hidascan about a month ago of my gallbladder. The hidascan shows the function of the gallbladder and the apperance. If the gallbladder is functioning lower than 40% they will remove the gallbladder. Also it will show any blockage
