Sound like Possible Hereditary Angioedema?

by Squeeters, Dec 08, 2008 05:50PM
Around age 5 I began breaking out in hives for no apparent reason.  It quit by the age of 10.  Menstruation began @ age 12.  Always had stomach problems--mostly constipation as a child.  Had to take awful Fletcher's Castoria always--licorice flavored laxitive.  Currently almost age 29, diganosed w/IBS approx 6 yrs ago.  Fluctuates now between constipation & diarrhea.  Had a colonoscopy 4 yrs ago, doc said it was normal.  Had an EGD, showed lesions on my esophogus from GERD.  Currently taking ranitidine.  Initially when I began ranitidine my stomach problems improved greatly.  Now I go from extreme constipation to painful diarrhea; my stomach cramps for a good while, then I start w/the cold sweats & my bloodpressure bottoms out.  I have once had my vision black out & vomit violently.  I had a HIDA scan & ultrasound done on my gallbladder this year...It was normal.  When I clean floors my hands swell & are very painful, so much so that I can't sleep.  I had a facial angioedema earlier this year & was taken off my lisinopril.  Any thoughts?
