Spasms after ERCP

by tbazelow, May 01, 2009 08:51AM
I am a 5"2' 135lb 32 yr old female. In Dec 2008 I had my gallbladder removed laproscopically because it was "full of" stones,  4 months later I had another "attack" and had an ultrasound and MRCP done that showed a stone in the bile duct.  I had an ERCP a few days ago.  They removed a stone from the duct and placed a stent.  Since then I have had pain/spasms.  I have had bloodwork done the day after the ERCP to check for pancreatitis which was normal.  These spasms are HORRIBLE and they seem to be getting worse each day.  I am trying to figure out if this is "normal" pain or if this is not and what can be done to help it.  The doctor does not seem concerned by this pain but does not offer any information about how to control it and what it may be caused from.  I would rather have the laproscopic surgery any day over what I feel now from the ERCP.
