I have been diagnosed with SOD recently, had surgery for it and the dr. avoided the pancreas. He found so much pressurePressure ulcer coming from the duct from the liver that he made an incisionIncision for abdominal laparoscopy Incision for lung biopsy Incision for pleural tissue biopsy Incision for thyroid gland surgery there to relieve the pressurePressure ulcer. I am a littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys over 30 days out from the procedure and still having pain in my upper right quadrant. Over the past year and a half I have been in and out of the ER 10 - 12 times now, hospitalized 4 times, had my gall bladder removed and two abdominal exploratory surgeries. My liver function tests are high, then low. About a year and a half ago I started having these episodes where I would wake up between 3 - 5 a.m. in excuciating pain, vomiting uncontrollably. Each time the only relief would be to go to the ER and get IV pain medications and have some fluids replaced in my body via IV. 12 years ago I had invasiveGestational trophoblastic disease Invasive Minimally invasive heart surgery Noninvasive Noninvasive test Squamous cell carcinoma - invasive cervical cancer and took much radiationCystitis - noninfectious Radiation therapy therapy to help with that which had crossed over in to my lymph nodes. My question is where do I go from here with the pain and nausea? I am already on pain patches (fentanyl) and I have pills (dilaudid) for breakthrough pain. I also take meds for hypothyroidism, estradiol and phenegran for the nausea. This has affected my life immensely, at home, work and most every aspect of it. I am 43 years old and not ready to succomb to this pain. Interestingly, I have continued to lead a pretty active lifestyle - I show my horses and ride several times a month . . . manage to maintain the house, but everything I do is with PAIN involved. And, when I have overdone or get stressed about an upcoming trial or something workwise it gets even worse. Please give any advice you might have. Thank you, Amy
