by tzzzz216, Aug 07, 2008 09:14PM
I just had a CT scan looking for GI bleeding , The report came back with a 1cm cyst in the spleen , My Dr. never mentioned anything about it, the only reason I know is because I got a copy of the report , Is there any importance/risks  in having a cyst in the spleen

There are various forms of spleen cysts, so it would be difficult to say whether there's importance to this or any risks associated with it. The most common cause of splenic cysts are post-traumatic cysts (about 80% of the time). Other causes of splenic cysts include epidermoid cysts, pancreatic pseudocysts, bacterial abscesses, and hydatid cysts.

You need to question your doc about this finding.
