testing, analyzed food, scripts, vitamins, tried Lotronex, other standards, nothing worked for about a year. Was told it's IBS. Then, suddenly, it was gone and my system normalized. Suddenly it's back. Only watery "bowel" either with pressure
or leaking for a week 24 hrs.Taking at least 10 Immodium daily. Tried a few old Lotronex but didn't change water, just slowed it down a bit. NOTHING has changed in what I eat or scripts or vitamins.
Is there any point in seeking medical help? Is there anything new to try? I believe I'll just be given all the tests again and probably with same result. Should I keep taking Immodium for 2 wks more and hope? Totally confining, of course.
to what we eat. THis can be in the form of a disease or spoiled food. I'm guessing since you have constant diarrhea you could have some kind of auto immune disfunction such as Celiacs disease. Not to worry...this is not life threatning but can be if not addressed.
If a person has celicas disease their body is not able to digest a certain protein found in wheat, barley, rye or malt and constant diarrhea is a classic symptom. What I find amazing is I too have experienced exactly what you have. I remember a few years ago when I could not eat anything without going directly to the restroom immediately after eating.
Search "celiacs disease" or "glutten intollerance" and see if any of your symptoms fall into this problem. Bad news is there is no medical treatment for this condition....GOOD NEWS is all you have to do is quit eating anything containing wheat, barely, rye, malt of flour. This is much easier than it sounds.
Gluten is in almost everything we eat. Bread, cake, beer, croutons, ketchup, breakfast cereal, soy souce, vitamins and some prescription meds. Basically all a person with celiacs disease can eat is chicken, red meat, fish, pork and all fresh fruits and veggies....things we should be eating anyway.
makes sense. However,in 2000 I pursued possible celiac--still have all my bks (Gottschall, etc.)--and since then I've carefully followed a no-carb diet--no breads/flours,sugar of any kind, cheeses are my only dairy, meat, chicken, fish, big salads of veggies, virtually no fruit to avoid fructose, I do eat nuts,no chips, etc.,no "fast foods".The stuff I eat doesn't have "additives" etc.If I'm getting gluten it must be in my many supplements which normally keep me very healthy. But, I've revisited it all at your suggestion. Now I wonder if I've picked up some bad bacteria--tomatoes?,etc. maybe have SIBO. I take probiotics. Pulled out some old antibiotic & will try a few--continue with lomotil & immodium to try to gain some control over this constancy.Don't know what else to do--any more suggestions?
