Still having Gallbladder attacks years after the surgery

13 years ago i had my gallbladder removed...and for years now i still have the attacks, but with out the oragan there. They did fade away, such as i would have one every am, to not as often.  I did see a speacaiIist, he said i would have to have another surgery, i had the ercp done, and came thru the sleeping meds screaming in pain from an attack when they injected the die. Was left in the hospital for a few days in pain.  Now years later..i  took some pain meds. for a surgery i had, and it threw me into the worse attack ive ever had, the attack lasted 45 minutes. The pain was far worse than it was when i had stones. My stomache bloats and feels like its going to exploded. The pain is unbearable, it is more extreme than before. I woke this am and had a glass of oj, and for 1.5 hours i had another attack. I do not feel well today, nothing seems to settle in my stomache, and i have huge air bubbles on the left side of my stomache that i can hear moving. Ive gone to the ER before, but it does no good, and they seem to think it is impossible to have attacks still. Ive done all natural clenses to see if it would help...No results. I am lost with out answers to why i still these attacks, and for 13yrs....is there anything a Dr. can do tomake these stop?? Why is the pain much stronger and more intense and last way longer..Help anyone???

Check out SOD, sphincter of Oddi dysfunction. It's a condition similar to what you're describing and the attacks can be caused by narcotic-based pain meds in some cases. If it is SOD, you need to be working with a specialist in the field. You may want to check out the SOD board on Yahoo.
