Stomach Pain I Need help!

. I have a question. I had a bad cold about a week and a half ago. I got over it but near the tail end of it I started having a sinus issue. Like thick yellow mucus situation lool. I know. Gross (sorry). Well that then turned into this sore throat (not the type from a cold) and I had a hunch I needed anti biotics. Well this was over break and seeing that no one was open my good friend had a spare set of antibiotics he never used (I know bad idea). It was amoxicillin clav ER 1,000-62.5 two a days. I took two then noticed almost my throat was fully healed however it started to hurt my stomach and I took a half the next day and stopped. Also I realized it was expired by 5 months. Now I am really worried because my stomach cramps are back and that stomach gas thing is back and I feel bad for disturbing my gut flora and potentially screwing myself over with expired anti biotics. I really don't want to go back to the stomach situation I had going on and i have been off it for three days now but still have the cramps. Been taking yoghurt and pro biotics. Should I be worried of potential toxic poisoning? Thank you...my gastroentereologist a few months ago diagnosed me with gastritis..i did stomach ultrasounds, endoscopy, h-pylori tests,...blood work..everything came back normal.....then i got better..but now..after this...its back to stomach cramps, the type that is deep in my stomach and i can feel it in my back....not frequent bowel movements....belching..all the time...and feeling full..and this minor and sometimes focused ache in the middle of my stomach..what could this be? i hate this...should i take pepcid? but its not heart burn!! :( someone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASEEE HELP ME!!! :(

I dont think you have to worry about toxins. Its probably just the antibiotics in general. like you said, they screw up your flora. I refuse to take them because of it. My guess is that you may have a touch of candida overgrwoth. Keep taking the probiotics and eating the yogurt and try to take a break from starches and sugars (that is what the yeast feeds on) and see if that helps.

I suggest you avoid salty foods, carbonated drinks and junk foods. You should also refrain from eating large amount of cheese and dairy products. Instead, you should consume high fiber foods to avoid constipation and avoid irritation of your gastritis.

okay, i feel that i may have either low acid or a little bacteria or yeast overgrowth that was bought on by the antibiotic. that gas pain in my lower back is gone..for now..thank God! however i still have random cramps..and the belching isnt getting any better.whenever i lay down and stand up i have this impulse to belch..also when i eat i feel kind of bloated and i start to belch alot and i just have this overall numby feeling in my stomach...what should i do ?

i dont have diarrhea but i feel like when i use the bathroom more stools should be coming out..sorry to sound gross guys

i tried probiotics and florastor and yoghurt, none of them seemed to help...so im trying to find a way i believe to speed up my digestion and thus eliminate this gassy formation..should i drink cranberry juice? it is acidic and will it help kill any of the bacteria if i do have bacteria overgrowth....

what is an example of high fiber food?!

cranberry juice is good for a urine infection, but wont do anything to bacteria in your gut.
What type of probiotic are you taking? you may need to take a decently strong one, like Ultimate Flora 10 strains of good bacteria. It isn't cheap, could be $25 or more for a months worth and you can find it at whole foods or any other health food store.
The other thing you can do is to for sure destroy any candida overgrowth would be to stop feeding it. The way to do that is to cut out carbs, starches, and sugars from your diet. Obviously this is something really hard to do, so I would really speak with a doctor and find out for sure if you have candida before you go so far trying to remove it.
High fiber foods can be a bunch of things, just to give some examples; fruits (pears, strawberries), veggies (broccoli, spinach, kale), nuts (almonds, walnuts). To get a full list just google high fiber foods. You could also start taking matamucil, benfiber, or any of the other fiber supplement.

hey, i went to walmart yesterday and purchased Nature's Way Primadophilus Fortify Daily Probiotic 30 Billion. Here are the strains it listed on its side

Lactobaciili (16 billion CFU):

Lactobacilus Acidopholous (La-14)
Lactobacilus Acidopholous (NCFM)
Lactobacilus plantarum (Lp-115)
Lactobacilus rhamnosus (Lr-32)
Lactobacilus casei (Lc-11)

Bifobacteria (14 Billion CFU):

Bifobacterium lactis (BI-04)
Bifobacterium bifidum (Bb-06)

So it seems that there are about 7 different strains. Is this good enough? Thank you so much by the way for answering me and trying to help me out, this whole thing has kind of gotten me depressed. i am a 28 year old guy..and i guess i stress out alot and stomach issues freak me out easily because of my uncle's stomach cancer death 4 years ago..but im young and I did all those tests i mentioned earlier to you, so it seems like maybe this hopefully is just a slight Candida overgrowth...maybe ill ask my doctor for a breath test to test for Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth or just keep taking the probiotics in the mean time and try and stress less.

It's just hard with insurance and payingall that money to see a doctor you know? Overall i think im going to keep on this track and try and starve the candida (if there is anything) and stress less... ijust dont like this tight feeling i feel in my stomach and its fullness too...and the cramps

also with regards to fiber, i take lemon juice and warm water in the morinng to get my digestive system moving, but since lemon has fiber in it, is this  a good idea? im guessing the low Ph of it will kill off any bad bacteria

for a man, you should have 30+ grams of fiber per day. But if you are going on a regular basis, you should be fine. As far as testing for SIBO, idk if they can test that with a breath test. only way ive ever known it to be tested was with a colonoscopy. But i could be wrong. Check your tongue, is it white at all? and search google images for tongues with yeast overgrowth and compare. while having it on your tongue doesnt mean for sure that you have SIBO, it can be a good sign of it.

thank you, no more tongue is as pink as can be...it looks healthy.....no diarrhea or weight loss or fever or anything i feel really healthy but my stomach just feels like there is this grey cloud of depression over it....with the churning cramps and the burps...my most upsetting symptom is the burping..especially on an empty stomach..its so strange....im going to stay on the probiotic...i had a test done 3 months ago for H-pylori.it came back negative...ultrasound..negative....endoscopy..negative.....blood work all came back fine..im wondering if any of these tests need to be repeated?

may just be gas. look up foods that cause gas and try to avoid them. also, make sure to drink plenty of water (60 oz a day).

ill do that! i think tomorrow i will go to the doctor and get a blood work and hydrogen breath test...

so ive been on the omeprazole for about a week and a half now, and so far havent noticed much difference. im still burping alot on an empty stomach....but i do seem to have restored bowel movements, but the cramps and minor stomach pain and belching are still here....im thinking of going off of it. perhaps i have too low stomach acid and need more.....im fasted..and tried to starve whatever it is out of my system but fasting seems to make things worse.....all my results came back negative..stool blood urine (all did comprehensive tests)..i asked my GI for a breath test he said its not necessary..at this point ive done so much..i dont know what else to do?...maybe antibiotics will help?

i promise this is not all in my head.....

isnt antibiotics what started this? I dont think they would help at all. And how are you "starving it out" hopefully not by not eating at all. Because that wont really work. If it is a yeast overgrowth you just need to stop eating sugar, carbs, and starch. basically stick to meat and veggies.
Did they do a stool test on you? check for parasites?
Blank
Avatar_m_tn
ohhh okay, i thought not eating at all would make it better, but it made my stomach worse....and yes i did a stool test...parasites the whole nine yards..it came out negative....i also did blood and urine test..all my results were negative..the only thing i did not do was a breath test..i took a charcoal caps thing and it seems to help a little bit..but i dont want to be dependent on it you know? ...i also stopped taking the omerzapole...i wasnt feeling good on it...

thats for acid reflux anyway. do u feel that at all?
As hard as it is, and as much as it will suck, try the candida diet for a week and see if it helps.
Blank
Avatar_m_tn
yea ill do that..and no ..zero reflux...absolutely none...just random empty stomach burps..cramps and yea...ill do that candida diet...ill let you know how it goes! thanks for the support cnoevl121
