Stomach Problems with Increased Bowel Movements

by Super Sarah, Mar 02, 2002 12:00AM
Hi,

Do you think that I need to see my doc so that he can examine my belly?

For the last three days I have had pain/discomfort mostly in my lower belly.  Sometimes I have upper belly discomfort and fullness after eating.  When I have this full feeling I know that I need to sit on the toilet.  When I sat on the toilet the other morning I was sat there for 40 mins.  I woke up and my belly felt really full and was swollen.  It took me 40 mins to empty my bowels fully as it felt as though there was so much there.  At other times I have had to sit on the toilet for 20 to 30 mins in order to have my bowels open.  Once finished on the toilet I feel a lot better, but I know when I have pain or a full feeling, that I will be sat on the toilet for a good 30 mins.  I do not have diarrhea and am not constipated.  I am having normal stools.

My doc is real busy at present, but I am quite happy to make an appointment with him so that he can look at my belly if you feel I need this?

Is there anything I can take in the meantime and could I just have some sort of infection in my belly?

Thanks

You may want to check out this site:

http://www.barrettsinfo.com/definitions/path_gastric_emptying.htm

It doesn't provide much more than a definition but you may be able to use the term(s) there to do further research.

Good luck to you.
