Hi, my brother was just admitted to the hospital after blood tests showed anemia(hgb. 7.0) and he had a positve hemacult. (Symptoms of decreased ability at the gym and for 4-5 months and stomach pain for 3 weeks.)  He then had an endoscopy, which the doctor "ran into a mass"...He then had an emergency cat scan which showed the tumor...we are awaiting pathology reports...but the doctor thinks it is adenocarcinoma.
His family hidtory includes a parent with colon cancer.
He is a very healthy...aerobically fit 42 yr old man...otherwise very healthy.  I would appreciate any info on possible course of
treatment and long term prognosis...
he is presently in a small community hospital, being cared for by an excellent gastro doc...I think he needs to be at a larger facility for surgery...your comments? Please?
Thank you.....................pat
