Stomach ache

Dear Sir, the patient (my brother) was having stomach ache with vomitting and fever with cold, we went to gastro doc where he analysed (based on symptoms and scanning results which were normal) and prescribed - Norflox tz (2 times), pantacid tab 40 (1 time) and zofer tab(in case of vomitting).
We are following the medication for 1 day now, after taking the medicine the stomach ache is gone but fever is still hanging there. Also one time, he had little blood during vomitting.
What can be done to get rid of fever? I cant ask the doc as I dont have his contact he is around 20 kms. A quick response will be very helpfull.

Hey Dharmendra!

Based on the prescription, this was probably a GU or GI infection. The infection may take some time to clear with the antibiotics and so would the fever. You could try some paracetamol 6-12 hourly (to be taken strictly after food with cold milk), if required. In addition measures such as cold sponging may be helpful. As for the blood in the vomit you may consider a review with your gastroenterologist.
