Stomach and small intestinal problems

by cricket, Jan 23, 2002 12:00AM
I believe that my father had cancer of the small intestine as well as the large intestine.  The tumor was in the cecum.  I have had a colonoscopy and tubular adenoma removed at the cecum, but would really like to have my small intestines checked.  I saw the "camera pill" and was wondering if anyone has had this done.  The reason I would like this is that sometimes it feels like I am carrying two rocks under my rib cage on each side.  Other times I feel like I am being paranoid. :) Any suggestions.

The easiest and most common test (especially if under the age of forty) is an occult blood stool test (requires stool sample). If over forty, especially with strong family history, it is time for an colonoscopy. Good luck from a nurse anesthetist.
