Have you been stressed or any emotional factors?
Irritable Bowel Syndrome or IBS can be triggered by emotional or stressful events.  When you get overly nervous about something sometimes it causes people to need to use the bathroom.

Did you have a stomach bug?  Did you feel sick in any other way?  Food poisoning or just a bug could be the culprit in which it takes a while for your digestive tract to get back to normal.

Have you had other episodes that were a week long or longer in which you had loose stools?  If so IBS may be the cause.

Is there blood in your stools?  If there is blood in your stools then I would advise you to see a DR since that could indicate Ulcerative Colitis.

I had lots of stomach issues growing up that would come and go for years.  I finally cut dairy and gluten out of my diet (a huge lifestyle change) and I feel much better for it.
