and have had increasing stomach cramps after eating certain foods. The pains started after i gave birth to my second child about 2 and half years ago and I realized the pains were happening after I would eat eggs. The pains would start 30-45 min after a meal and would last about 30-45 min. I stopped eating eggs and the pains really havent been an issue for the past year. (FYI, since then I had a third child which makes three pregnancies in a short period of time.) Recently the pains came back worse and more frequently and not just from eggs. Last week, I ate what seemed to be an innocuous salad and I had the worst cramping after, that lasted for about 2-3 hours. The pain I describe as a knotty, cramp right below my ribs
with slight nausea and often makes me feel a general malaise. I would not specifically say that the pain is more so on the right side but rather mid upper abdomen. I got very nervous and tried to get in to see a GI specialist but could only get in to see my primary
Dr. the next day. I thought that would be wise to get the ball rolling with any diagnostic tests that may be neccessary. He immediately suspected my gallbladder and sent me for an abdominal US which came back negative. He also drew blood to check liver function and test for H-Pilori bacteria which too came back negative. I now have an appointment with a GI surgeon this Friday April 8, and am trying to educate myself on what to expect next and to see if anyone else has had the same symptoms and got a definitive diagnosis. Thanks for taking the time to help.
