Stomach pains that wont go away

I have been having major stomach pains for over a month now and I have seen two doctors with two different oppions. A little about my history, I am 26 years old, I have a history of eating disorders, of which I have been considered "recovered " for the last year and a half, I have been treated for stomach problems with a drug called Protonix, but was taken off of it last Aug when I found out I was pregnant, I gave birth to my son in May and had some complications, a fever and a rash, the rash still shows up in the afternoons, lately I have had severe digestive problems and sharp pains that seem to stab on one side below my ribs then the other and then in the center of my stomach, I also have low blood pressure, and every day I am nausiated. Both doctors did blood tests one told me I dehydrated, but I can't be I drink water all day long because I breast feed, the other told me I have a stomach "bug" that could last up to 6 weeks and gave me a caugh syrup with codiene. Both doctors have my medical history, but they don't have answers. I am just so tired of being sick, I have a 6 month old baby and I can not afford to stay like this. I also took a pregnancy test 3 weeks ago and it came back negative. I should also mention that I have had digestive problems even as a child.

There are a number of things that come to mind based on what you say. My first thought, coming because of the digestive complications and then because of the rashes, is that you might be displaying symptoms related to gluten intolerance. (Maybe not celiacs, but non-celiac gluten intolerance is a more likely possibility.) Check out the tests by Enterolab for gluten intolerance, and also ask your doc about testing you for celiac spruce, the only definitive test being an upper endoscopy, since Celiac Spruce will cause damage to your small intestine; non-celiac gluten intolerance doesn't have the autoimmune component of celiac spruce, but it still has all the effects. (This is why I recommend the Enterolab tests in addition to what the doctors test for. They only test for full-blown celiac disease, not non-celiac gluten intolerance.)

I also wonder about the possibility of delayed gastric emptying (gastroparesis), which may also be caused by gluten intolerance. That might explain your stomach pains and nausea. Gastroparesis is most common in women and has been associated with pregnancy.

These are just two of the possible reasons that come to mind, but they are by no means the only things. Perhaps someone else can offer more information. Good luck.
