Stomach pains

A family member of mine has been having some severe stomach aches and I was looking for some suggestions to help him relieve it.
Signs and Symptoms:
Mid abdomen pain
Sleeping usually helps
Movement worsens pain
Not much bowel movement
Hard to eat without feeling nauseous
Pain lasted for about a week now, comes and goes

They took some antacids which would relieve the pain for a few hours, then it would come back.
