Stomach problem with 15 year old son

I need help for my 15 year old son.  He has been sick since age 7 but nothing as severe as what he is experiencing now.  He has severe, severe crippling nausea, occasional headaches and occasional dizziness.  The nausea is the worst and keeps him from being able to conduct/participate in even the most normal activities for a teenager (going to the mall, playing basketball, going to school etc.)  He sometimes vomits.

So far he's had the following done:
(1) Endoscopy
(2) Stomach emptying test
(3) Kidney test
(4) biopsy
(5) Lactose tolerance test scheduled for 8/26/10.

Blood work has also been done several times.  None of these tests have turned up anything.

He has also been on several medications:
(1) ondestron
(2) 2 migrane medications
(3) dexilant
(4) welchol
(5) prilosec
(6) zantac etc..

He  has also been talked to about anxiety etc.  Nothing helps.  He is so very sad that he can't have a normal life like his friends and that he is sick all of the time.  I don't know what to do.  Please help; any suggestion is appreciated.

My son experienced the same symptoms starting at age 9, he is also now 15. The doctors, when they couldn't figure it out said it was anxiety or that he didn't want to go to school.  I knew this was not true.  I took him to a psychologist anyway, she cleared him of anxiety and researched his symptoms.  She is the one who got us pointed in the right direction for a correct diagnosis.

After his 8th grade year, we finally got the correct diagnosis- dysautonomia (or POTS-postural orthostatice tachycardia syndrome).  His main complaint was nausea(and that is still his main complaint), but he also had dizziness, abdominal pain, headaches/migraines(those are gone now), hot spells, weakness in legs, hand tremors, to name most of them.  They didn't all start at one time, but added as time went by.

He missed 1/2 of his 8th grade year and all of his freshman year at school.  He just returned to school for 4 hours a day.  He is still nauseated first thing in the morning.  For more information on dysautonomia go to dinet.org or dynakids.org.

Even with the correct diagnosis, finding a knowledgeable doctor was hard.  We live in St Louis and travel to Cleveland for treatment.

He needs to see a Neurologist as well as an Endocrinologist.  If everything checks out okay then I would re-visit the anxiety issue.  These are common complaints of anxiety, and it will snow ball on him due to all this.  I'm sure he has added anxiety and depression from being sick all the time.  What was done as far as the anxiety goes?  I feel so bad for him, his childhood is being lost to this.  I personally, would lean towards anxiety because if it was anything serious it would have been much worse by now and presenting with more symptoms.  His nausea you say is worse, and this may be due to increased anxiety/depression over having been sick so long.  I know it breaks your heart as his mother, I do hope you get answers.  Take care.
