Stomach problems- Graphic

by Sskan, Mar 12, 2008 02:50AM
I am a 27 year old Mother of four and have been experiencing some strange things.  The past couple of days I have been experiencing Bloody mucous in my stools (diahrrea also). The last time I used the bathroom I had cramps like you feel when you have horrible gas pains and all that came out was bloody mucous, nothing else (more mucous than anything). I know this sounds gross but it kind of resembled the mucous plug you lose when going into labor. I have been sick with a cough and a stuffy head for 6 weeks now can this be the cause? I also live in a small town where the medical proffesionals don't try to hard to diagnose a problem they rather have you out the door. When there is a serious problem they medivac you to seattle. I hope someone can help.. Thank you and sorry about some of the details, I figure the more you know the better I can be helped.

From your description, this isn't something that is going to be able to be figured out by anyone other than a professional. You really need to talk to your doc and get some tests done. One of the better ones would be a colonoscopy considering you're having bloody mucus in your fecal material. The doc may not do much, but at least they can get you started on running some basic tests. If you've been on any meds or antibiotics lately you should make sure to tell the doc, and you might also want to inquire to find out if anyone in your family has a history of any form of GI disorder in the form of inflammmatory bowel problems.
