I am a 23 year-old woman from Canada who, other than suffering from asthma and albinism, have been completely healthy until recently.
For about six months I had blood and mucus in my stool, which was accompanied by severe constipation. After trying over the counter drugs with no success, I finally saw a gastroenterologist here in Vancouver. He found 2 polyps. One was juvenile
, very, very, large and in my large intestine .He said it had been there at least a few years. The second was much smaller and further down my colon, The second smaller one was precancerous. I was relived to have them removed. This was about one month ago. I also had an endoscopy which I have yet to have a follow-up to, but seemed to turn up nothing.
HOWEVER. I continue to have large amounts of mucus in my stool, but am no longer constipated. In fact, I have close to 5 bowl movements every day, mostly in the morning. I also have severe lower back pain on both sides where my kidneys are. Just today I was massaging my back and found it swollen
Other strange, seemingly unrelated symptoms have been occurring for the past 3 months. My periods, which were previously very predictable, have been late or non-existent. I also have pain in my lower left abdomen and, get this, a milky discharge
from both of my breasts. I get a blood pregnancy test every month for this and it's always negative. I've had a breast ultrasound with normal results and repeated FSH, Prolactin, and other hormonal tests which also all come back normal each time.
I just want to feel better. The back and stomach pain are becoming harder to deal with and the mucus in my stool worries me. I may have FAP, the genetic polyposis disorder
, but am adopted and have yet to get my medical history from mthe damned government. There were also no polyps found in my stomach as far I as I know when I had the endoscopy.
This Thursday, I have a pelvic ultrasound and a follow-up to the endoscopy with my physician. Any advice for the time being? I am at a brick wall and can't climb it, can't ignore it, or go around it anymore.
