Sulfuric smelling burps and loose stools

My huband id very ill with diarrea (diarrhea) ,sulfura smelling bealches and stomach pain. He had this about 8 years ago but the doctors could not find the problem and just sent him home from the hospitsl after about 3 days. It finally just went away but still not explanation for this and now its back. He is very nauseated and seems very weak.

Did the hospital check his stools for stomach bacteria?  In 2007 I was diagnosed with H Pylori.  This is an awful stomach bacteria that make you feel nauseated, can get constipation from it and/or diarrhea.  Bloating of the stomach, extreme fatigue. and so on.  I was treated for the H Pylori and symptoms went away for two years.

Just recently this past Friday 12/11/09 my doctor called me as I was having similar symptoms again and had my stools checked, the results I was found positive for another stomach bacteria called CDF (D-Dif).  This bacteria leaves you with the same symptoms, but is usually caused from taking to many penicillins over the years.  If your husband has been on a lot of penicillins you might want to go to a Gastro Doc and have him check his stools for H Pylori and C-Dif.

It's worth a try as I know I'm glad that at least something was found so I can get rid of it.  I hope of course, I was reading some articles on C-Dif and it says that 20% of the people who have been diagnosed with it can have a relapse.  The death toll rates were awful in Quebec, Canada and they even found it infested in hospitals in Ireland.

Just a thought, wouldn't hurt to run these tests.  If they come back negative then that is one more thing you have ruled out. :-)
