Swolen stomach after surgery for perforated colon

I had emergency surgery for a perforated colon in December of 2008.   A second surgery followed about three months later to reverse the colostomy.   I believe it was from a colonoscopy that I had four months prior but that's not my question.  Everything went as well as it could have (a horrible experience) but my stomach is very large and bulbous.  I understand that the stomach muscle was cut but is there anything that can be done?  I relocated about two months after my second surgery so I'm not able to visit that surgeon.

Sorry there was no definitive answer.  I'm thinkg about bringing it up to my GP when I go at the end of the month but am very hesitant.  I don't think he would have an answer which starts the runaround from one specialist to the next.  Anyway, I'll let you know if I find out anything.  Hope you stay well.  TTYS, Bobby

Thanks for responding.  I don't get on here much so forgive the late response.  I haven't received any other answer.  I'm hesitant to ask a doctor about it because of the horrible time I had with the surgeries.  I don't think I could go through that again.

Do you have any pain?  I sometimes feel a pulling or tightness in different areas of the scars.  I hope your problem is a minor one.  Please let me know when you get the results.

thanks, Bob
