Symptoms of stomach ulcer

What are they symptoms of a stomach ulcer? I've had this gnawing feeling in my stomach lately when I shouldn't be hungry. I noticed it tonight after dinner. It almost feels like my stomach is eating itself! I know that's a strange way to put it. It's kind of hard to describe. I also feel a bit of possible heartburn off and on. At least that's what I think it is.
I've been pretty busy so I don't know if I might have missed any symptoms before.
I have had some colon problems in the past and H. Pylori last year which was treated with antibiotics. They think I'm in remission from a mild case of Crohns. Not sure if that has anything to do with these latest symptoms, though.

Could this gnawing feeling in my stomach be an ulcer? If so, how would they be able to test for it? I've gone through so many tests last year I really don't want to have to go through again. :(

You need to get this checked out.  Crohn's can travel anywhere in the digesteive system.  They might be able to tell by putting you on the anti-ulcer drug and if it works then problem solved.

I was tested for H.Pylori last year and they said I had it. I was given a round of antibiotics  and they said it was gone.
I had an upper GI done then too. I also had an endoscopy/colonoscopy done in January. They did see some inflamation and mild gastritis.
I also had a mild form of Chrohn's apparently, but they think I'm in remission since my surgery last year to remove an obstruction in my small intestine. They think that removed the only part where there was a flare up of the Crohns. That's why they think I'm in remission now.
Could any of this trigger a stomach ulcer? I did have some ulceration in my small intestine at that time but not my stomach. Still that was almost a year ago.

April, I had these symptoms and my doctor put me on a drug called Pantiloc which I think is one of what ayri is talking about.  It heals my stomach and takes away the pain.  I need to take a lot of NSAID's and they aggravate my stomach so the Pantiloc keeps it at bay.  Good luck.

hi, have you undergone an upper endoscopy? if not, then i suggest you do. h-pylori is the major cause of ulcers, and if they are not treated then they may turn cancerous, even if your gp eradicated h-pylori, without a scope you cant tell whether youve developed ulcers or gastritis, if you dont want to go through the procedure, then ask your gp if they will prescribe proton pump inhibitor medication for six months, in this time any ulcer or stomach linning damage should be healed, cheers.

I think I figured out the sharp little pains. I had the most awful stomach pains last night, terrible gas, I guess. I was almost doubled over it hurt so bad.
The other symptoms I'm not sure of.
Can anyone help?

I forgot to mention, I also have a slight feeling of nausea and almost a hungry feeling even though I know I'm not hungry because I've just eaten. I also got a couple of sharp little pains in the side that almost felt like a stitch but it wasn't that bad. It wasn't like I was bent over in pain over it but just noticed it as odd. I have no idea if that has anything to do with the other symptoms or not.
