TB infection in the small intestine

TB infection in the small intestine

Dear Sir,

We are currently located at Jersey city since 4 months, NJ. We are from India
My husband went through appendix operation 1 year back in India during operation he was diagonized to have TB infection in small intestine for which he took 9 months course of AKT in India.

Now present situation is again the pain has started in his intestine, He went to consult an Indian doctor Gastrologist locally who asked him for a list of reports like endoscopy, bowles report, blood report etc etc.

After 1 month and diagonizing the report doctor said that he might have TB infection in his intestine and he cannot give any medicine to him as it was not his area.

Now we are stuck in between, day by day he is losing his weight.

Please help me as having telephonic conversation to indian doctor he is saying that he needs to be operated as his intestinal wall is contracting and has got thickened.

Plz help me with my query as soon as possible

Hi Mehz, I am sorry I have no up to date information for you, but when I was dx with Crohn's some 35 yrs ago, a guy of 33 yrs was in hospital with me at the Hammersmith Hospital, London, England. He was dx with TB of the intestines. He caught it when serving with the British Army in Cyprus.Unfortunately I don't know what treatment he had, but you could try and email one of their gastro-enterologists for some advice.I don't go there now as I have moved some 200 miles away. I am sure though, there must be plenty of good GI's in the USA - try e-mailing the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn, or M.D. Anderson in Houston, Tx. They are state of the art hospitals and have great physicians. The Hammersmith in London had many overseas patients in their Metabolic Unit whilst I was there, with unusual diseases.
Hope you get it sorted out.
Liz.

Wouldn' the doctor have reported you to the health dept., which would have set takens teos to treat you so as to protect tbe public from a dangerous, communciable disease, one that is likely to have a drug/antibiotic resistence, since it came back?
