I hqve had a blowed up feeling, lack of a better discription, in my upper adomin for a year or more.  It feels like some one is pumping up a balloon inside me.  If I take deep breaths it will cause me to feel like I am swelling up. If I drive on  a bumpey road it will cause me to feel like I am swelling.  I am short of breath alot and I have been on asthma meds and predinisone for a couple years two help but I keep swelling and then the shortness of breath happens.  I have had x-rays of the lungs and the stomach.  Even had one Dr. think it was the heart and nothing came of this.  If anyone has a suggestion please let me know.

Prednisone can cause bloat.  But you need that stuff, apparently.  As for asthma meds, they can cause the heart to race sometimes, which can make a person nervous, and that can lead to gulping air and then not letting it back out.  Whoever gave you those meds, they need to run an EKG on your heart since you take asthma stuff, and check your liver enzymes since you take prednisone.  Also, unrelated to meds, if you eat before you go down that bumpy road, it can make your tummy all acidy and bubbly, so your stomach will swell from the gas.
