Taking Prilosec everday for two years now heart burn

by Larry26, Oct 01, 2008 03:57PM
I have been taking Prilosec for over two years almost everyday.  If I miss one day I have massive heartburn, which comes up into the top of my throat.  My eating and drinking habits are not the greatest, but i have tried to eat better and seen little success.  Someone told me its better to take prilosec all the time, so I don't have that acid burning away at my esphogus.  I don't have any known side effects from taking the drug this often, in fact i can eat and drink whatever and not have to worry about heart burn.  I don't know if i should be going into the doctor, or what kind of doctor i should see.  Or if it would be better for my health to take Zantec everyday.

Any words of advice appreciated!
