Teenager with chronic abdominal pain

My daughter has been suffering with chronic abdominal pain for over a year now. In 2006 she was diagnosed with a astro cytoma brain tumor (benign). before that the pain had already started and when her gastroenterologist could not find what was causing the pain, he decided to do a CT scan and there was the tumor. Now that the tumor has been removed and there are no sign of any tumor, her stomach pains are getting worse. She can not attend school for a whole week, her PCP thinks it is psychological. We are at wits end and don't know where to turn. We have tried hypnosis and are thinking of accupuncture. I asked her gastro. doctor what Abdominal Wall Pain is and he couldn't tell me too much. I'd like to hear your opinion. Thank you.

I have a 16 year old daughter who has had stomach pains now for 2 and 1/2 months now.  I took her to the ER and was told she had UTI we took the medicine just like they told us to even though she did not complain about any burning when peeing or having to go more than usual.  She finished the medicine and stil had pains and we noticed they got worse after eating so I took her back to the doctors and was told she had GERDS and once again she was not complaining about acid reflux or burning in her throat.

She gets nausead when she eats and the pains intensify the pain never really seems to go away just not as intense at times.

I just took her to see another doctor who did an endoscopy and an ultra sound and the only thing they can tell us is that she has more bacteria than normal, and if the pain continues come back in 3 to 4 weeks and they will do a CT scan.

The second doctor we saw told my daugter that is could just be in her head and that not that she really needed to but she might think about losing 5 pounds.  That floored me, I daughter is 5'6" and weights around 160.  I am so fruasted with the doctors out here that I lose sleep because I wonder if they know what they are doing.

I hope you daughter is doing well.  Thanks for letting me vent.

Have they ruled out IBS? My 15-yr-old has that and takes a fiber pill every day and tries to avoid stress as much as possible. Seems to help.

I am sorry to hear about your daughter. I was the abdominal pain queen as a teenager and like your daughter - got no answers. They did find a cyst on my ovary that was pretty large and got me on hormones to shrink it and it did feel better. But 10 years later I am still searching for answers - now they are looking at my colon for a possible disease (my entire abdomen hurts). It's not all in her head. Poor girl, I know how she feels.
