Thought I'd die !!

by Mopo, Apr 09, 2008 10:45PM
This Sunday i experienced the most painful attack, I've ever had.  My stomach ache was so severe it lasted six hours.  I thought I was having a heart attack, but being confused did not call a doctor.  The pain ened after I vomited.  I have not eaten many solids since, for fear of the pain.  I have no gallbladder it was removed four years ago, as was my appendix . I have a history of ulcers and GERD and 2 of the 3 sections of my large intestine.(It had become stretched out and the mobility was almost nill).   The pain is now very dull, my abdomen is distended and I am afraid of something serious.  The pain was so scary !!! Anything I should be doing?

This is a simple answer, but pain in the tummy that lasts for hours can sometimes be caused by gas.  Gas will also swell out the tummy.  To get rid of it, alka seltzer will neutralize your digestive system and release the gas.  Usually this kind of tummy gas pain is caused when you eat a big meal early in the day.  Also, probiotics in the form of Activia yogurt at the grocery store will sometimes help an uncooperative bowel.
