Throat-Clearing

by Salim1921, Oct 04, 2009 10:25AM
Is it possible to have reflux of [stomach contents or mucus] and not feel any burning or sensation?
I have incessant throat-clearing regularly, at times when I have a sinus drip. At other times, though  I have no drip but still must clear my throat vigourously for hours until it becomes sore at times.
I welcome any input. Thanks

Yes it is possible to have acid reflux and not have the standard symptoms. A lot of people find that out the 'hard' way - when their condition is so advanced that it's hard to control.

If you think acid reflux could be a possibility ask your doc to consider doing an upper endoscopy to check.

In addition, you may want to try cutting out any and all dairy products and see what happens. There are people who have a reaction to dairy that includes a lot of throat clearing.
