But here I sit again today....having been up since 5am to try and make it to a 8am meeting for work.....it's now 11:45am....I am STILL at home unable to get out of the house because EVERYTIME I go for the door I have to go back to the restroom and have another stool.
This is happens to me ALL of the time it seems.....This problem makes having and keeping a job very difficult, it makes doing anything very difficult for that matter. I have to travel with a roll of toilet paper just in case I find myself in between gas stations on the road or any other place that has a public restroom. Relationships are hard to maintain because people lose patience with the ultra frequent stops all the time and my increasingly poor attitude about the problem and just stuff in general.
I have been given a few diets to get on so that I can watch what I am eating so as to not make the problem worse. There was a big advantage there since I was already NOT eating many of the things on the DONT eat list. Now if we're being honest I do still enjoy a cheesburger sometimes and love chocolate on occasion....But am still already NOT eating most of the things I shouldn't be. Yet I still....everyday (almost) have this terrible problem....I say almost everyday because there have been days...sometimes a couple in a row even....where the problem isn't very bad at all and I may only have 3-4 stools in the early part of the day. As oppose to a more "normal" day when I will have 10+ visits to the restroom before NOON...then tapers off throughout the rest of the day. I have had days where I have been on the stool upwards of 20 times....in ONE day.
Is there ANY medication in the world that can make me STOP all the poopin????? What else can I do to make this mess just stop?? (aside from a colostomy bag)
wow, i feel your pain. I have IBS, but not that bad.
I am not a doctor, but I can try my best to help.
First off, i'd start by ONLY drinking water. Skip every other drink on the planet. See if that makes any difference.
Second, i'd keep a list of everything that I eat, and followed by how many times you went inbetween eating. See if there is any consistency, maybe there are some foods that are triggering it more. I know you said you go upwards of 5-20 times a day, but maybe we can at least start to knock it down to a consistent 4-8 times instead.
I know that my triggers are Caffiene, Chocolate, Dairy, Alcohol.
i feel for you i am 56 years old and 4 months ago had the on set of what you say you have had for years i to have my days vry few but the problem slacks off as well all of a sudden i have started throwing up at least 1 meal a day sometimes more with all this going on some how i have managed to gain weight instead of loosing weight i have even cut back on the size of my meals thinking that would help at least the throwing up part but i was wrong there
so for i have been told right now we are going to call this and treat you for colitis but nothing has helped the dr. has tried me on several antibotics and a steroid and that has not helped a bit and i play the devil trying to play phone tag with him i have missed calls by running to the bathroom without the phone or dropping the phone on the rush to the bathroom and he dont try to call back and then you leave another message for him to call you and finanlly you feel like you are troubling him when he does call me back with no solution except to try another med. i am far from having money to just throw it away on yet something else that will not work
iwish you luck
