If the sides of the crib are closed, then white mosquito netting that they'll hang around a bed for either looks or purpose would work well, too.
Perhaps you could rig light-sheer cotton cloth very securely across the top of the crib. I mean, he's supposed to be sleeping while he's in there, so you're not exactly confining him. Also, use gentle surgical tape to secure the tube from his tummy to a second place on his body, a few inches away, like on the side of his chest under his arm... that way it won't pull where it goes into his tummy. I've had tubes on my body in a couple diff places, and talk about tape! I still have scars from all that tape, they secured it a few inches away from where the needle or tubes went in. That was a long time ago, they have gentler tape now.
Thanks, but I have spoken to my son's kidney specialist, GI specialist, and pediatrician and they don't know. I have also spoken to another parent and their child was so sick that the transition was easy. Luckily my son is very active and he does not fit the bill for any of his chronic ailments.
My goodness, I can truly understand your concern! I would contact your pediatrician, or the hospital and get advice on this. I'm sure you're not the first to have this problem. I hope someone out there can help you with this. God Bless your son and all of you.......
