Treatment for Internal Gut Yeast Problem

I periodically have serious yeast problems that must be treated with drugs.  I am unable to eat much fruit or vegetables with high sugar content.  I am currently being treated with Diflucan and Cipro for an existing yeast problem.  I am taking Diflucan for 30 days and Cipro for 10 days.  This will give me some relief for about three or four months and then I will need to treat the problem again.  Questions:  Should I change the Diflucan/Cipro time schedule or try different drugs?  Any other suggestion would be very much appreciated.  I should note that I take enzymes with each meal (Digest Gold and Fenol)  Thanks for any help, Sam.

yeah nystatin is actually not as effective...BUUUT much safer since it's not absorbed into the blood barrier so..your doctor will probably have no problem letting you try nystatin or nystatin WITH diflucan.  I've heard you can take high amounts of that pill with little risk.  Good luck with that... my doctor looked at me stupid when I asked about Candida.. I know lots of doctors discount it but i'm glad you have a diagnosis.

It appears to me that you might have "Candida" this is an intestinal yeast problem in the gut and you can not eat any sugar, yeast, wheat or fruit.  The drug of choice for this is called "Nyastatin" It is NOT a statin, but, a great yeast fighter, usually complimentary docs recommend it. There is a book called "The Yeast Connection" By Dr. Cooke and it goes into detail regarding diet, supplements and daily living. There is a lot to do for it, but your doc must be knowledgeable in this area.
I will say that certain chemicals in the environment can cause flare-ups, in fact, just about anything can bring them on. It is usually discovered via a blood test or better yet, doing an exam of your BM.
Hope this helps some.
