Ulcer or burned stomach lining

Hi there need some help I have been on omeprazole for 2years for acid I felt coming up my throat everything has been ok untill Wednesday  had this burning feeling in my stomach had a drink on tuesday on a empty stomach done this a couple times now anyway I took 1 omeprazole and it was still sore phoned the doctor Thursday got to see the nurse she said take 2 omeprazole for a week see if it settles down it's calmed down a bit is this a ulcer doctor never told me if I had 1 thanks if someone can give me info :)

Hi Steven, i too have acid which comes up into my throat , stings like mad i agree, i too am taking omeprazole which has helped me immensely, my doctor told me not to eat anything too spicey as this would cause the acid to occur again, i am on omeprazole 20 mg for ever now, if you smoke stop, if you eat spicey things then stop that too, and be careful what alcoholic drinks you take as this can cause the acid to occur...

Thanks for the reply :) Its still sore this my second day on 2 omeprazole feel like acid coming up bk of throat when I smoke it feels worse also been going to the toilet more often for a number 2 and it's stining Is this the acid?

See how doubling your medication works for you, if things don't improve then I'm sure your doctor will want to have you get an Endoscopy to see if you do have an ulcer, and to look for other causes.  It's all treatable, so don't worry too much over this.  Take care.
