Ulcer waking me up at night

Ulcer waking me up at night

I have recently had terrible upper abdominal pain so I was seen by an ER doctor. He conducted an ultrasound and ct scan and could not seem to find anything causing the pain. He said to fully be sure of the diagnosis I would have to have an endoscopy done by a specialist. I did see a specialist about the pains and everything I have said leads him to believe it is an ulcers, and I am having the endoscopy done in two days. The pain is not getting better and I am looking for any advice or somebody that has had a similar experience. I am having worsening pain at night and can't get my proper rest.

Sorry to hear you're suffering but you seem to be doing the right thing be getting an endoscopy.

Hopefully you will know for sure what is causing your grief. Some people find ulcer relief with things as simple as pepto-bismol or something like DGL (Deglycyrrhizinated licorice).

Sounds like a peptic ulcer.  It hurts more at night because it creates a lot of acid that has nothing to work on.  You're doing the right thing and ulcers are treatable.  Take care.
