all these out of his diet completely. At the same time he took Scandishake and Fortisip (which he still does). He did improve a lot and regardless of what is said, it does not seem colitis
sufferers should have too much of anything, no dairy, no wheat, no gluten, in my son's case this extended to yeast, root vegetables, pork and several other things. I also realised all preservatives, additives and colourings were bad for him and cooked all food from scratch
and just gave him the veg etc he was not intolerant to. He now lives with his partner and I am not responsible for his food but he is very careful at what he eats and does not eat processed foods, avoiding additives and preservatives. He has gained weight which dropped to 7 stone and is now 12 stone. He continues with the scandishakes and fortisips. I feel a colitis
sufferer's colon is struggling to deal with food anyway and should not have the added burden of processed foods, lactose, fat and things that take extra effort. I have found that stress is the major part and recently when undergoing an enormous amount of stress I saw his health fall apart, the colitis returned with avengence, he lost weight again and was very ill. When the stress subsided, his health improved. His latest symptom, which is new to him, is he passed out this week and blood was running from his nose. Any help on this would be appreciated. I hope the above on food helps others.
