Ulcers, vomiting years after subtotal gastrectomy

I had a subtotal gastrectomy in 1979 for obstruction from repeated ulcers and scar tissue forming.  The did a vagotomy and took out most of the acid producing cells.  I was fine for years until 1996 when I developed another ulcer.  A biopsy was taken and a severe bleed ensued requiring two units of blood.  Recovered fairly well but have had difficulty with vomiting on and off after eating.  Afterward I am hungry again.  Vomiting is increased again and weight loss.  I still have an appetite.  Endoscopy is scheduled.  I am scared.  What are possibilities I have stomach cancer or esophageal cancer?

I don't think any of us can give you probabilities on stomach cancer of esophageal cancer. About the only thing we can probably say is that you'll probably find that you do have damage to your stomach and esophagus due to the vomiting - an unfortunate side-effect. If the damage is extensive, I wonder if the docs might suggest something like a gastric bypass to try to help if necessary.
