Ultrasound Result

i underwent ultrasound and the result is focal irregular appearing echogenic structure in the right hepatic lobe,anterior and superior to the region of porta Hepatis.Focal hepatic steatosis is primarily considered.however a more aggressive etiology cannot be ruled out. what is this all about

It means that you may have a fatty liver condition, common now days, but it is focal, maybe. The reason for concern is anything focal and lpcaled in the portal hepatic region needs to be properly identified. The region is a very critical location of the liver, lots of stuff going on wrt portal vein and bile ducts. You will likely need to get an MRO done just to be sure. MRI's are the best way to identify any focal etiologies.
