I take 40mg omeprazole in the morning and 40mg of rabeprazole in the evening. This controls it well.I used to vomit for 3 yrs because of reflux!

But be careful low stomach acid can make ur health worse.

Yea it is acid rebound.I also take prilosec. Before that I used to throw up everyday in the morning for 3 years.Acid reflux is so bad.

I've had to take a proton pump inhibitor TWICE daily to control my GERD. You might have to try different PPIs (nexium, protonix, prevacid, etc) to see which one works best for you. For me prevacid works better than the others, but you might be different. My aunt likes protonix. When you're feeling better, but might try a lower dose rather than stopping the med. My gastoenterologist told me that I'd probably have to take a PPI for the rest of my life. I don't know if there is a surgery to correct GERD, you might ask your MD.
