Unexplained constant recurring hunger pangs

by mitch161, Dec 15, 2006 12:00AM
For the past four months I have had constant recurring hunger pangs. I wake up starving in the morning and eat 4-6 bowls of cereal or porridge. I eat soup during the day, as well as lunch. In the evening I start supper about 7:00 and eat continually until bedtime at 9:30 or 10:00. For example, I am small and normally eat ½ a pork chop for supper. Now I eat 2-3 pork chops a night. Sometimes I awake during the night and have to go downstairs to eat something. I have gained 10-15 pounds in the past few months and am terribly uncomfortable. I also am so sick of the sight of food, I could scream.

If I do not eat, I get stomach pains which grow in intensity.

I also wake up every morning with nausea which may last for 4-5 hours. Then it does not recur the rest of the day.

I have been to the hospital and had all th4e tests: blood, endoscopy, CT scans, MRI, etc., and the doctors are stumped. None of them have any ideas for me. I also tried a Naturopath, but after a while he told me to go away because he could not help me.

I stay at home all the time because I have to eat. And I am getting anxiety attacks because there does not seem to be any help in sight.

Have you found help or a solution to your problem?
Because it has been a week now that I have had this. I would like to know if anyone has found a solution to this problem. I am 27 by the way, and am female and I very much doubt that I am pregnant

I have been experiencing this constant empty feeling in my stomach too. I suffer with depression and anxiety, so I think it's related to stress - only a guess though.  Anti acid med like Rennies doesn't work, neither did a prescribed one called Lansoprazole.

I also have this burning in my chest, dry throat and urinate constantly.  I don't know if it's due to the medicine I'm on - Sertraline???!!!  My GP and psychiatrist can't seem to diagnose or treat  : (

PLEASE HELP !!!
