HELP!!!!! I have been having attacks for a few years now, but they are now more frequent. They are about 1-2 times per month. It starts in the evening with somewhat tolerable abdominal pain, then left side "gurgling" sound, dry mouth. I sit on the toilet and the pain/cramping intensifies as I do not pass a stool right away, during this time, I get an internal hot feeling and become sweaty, alternating cold and hot feeling, almost passing out. A couple of times I vomited from the pain, dizziness. The pain is unbearable, but I am not constipated, the first stool that comes out is fairly normal, soft but takes forever to come out. I don't know if this is due to spasms or what. The cramping/pain continues but begins to lessen in severity as the rest of the bowel movement comes out, soft stool, then diarrhea, then watery diarrhea. Afterward I am exhausted. The entire attack lasts from 1-2 hours. Saw GI doc, was scoped twice and told Irritable bowel syndrome, donnatol was prescribed and I went 6 weeks without an attack and now it seems the donnatol does not help at all. I am at my ropes end with this. I do have endometriosis and am having that checked out within the next couple of weeks, however, CAT scan of abdm. showed cysts on ovaries only. These attacks are in no relation to foods, however, I seem to have an attack when I drink wine, which I no longer drink. But the attacks continue. I hope I can get some answers.
