Unsure what is going on

by blf94, Jun 20, 2008 09:53AM
Hi everyone.  I am 32 years old and have been lactose intolerant for 5 years now.  In the past month, I have been experiencing a lot of gas pains and cramps.  The gas builds up in me and causes me cramps and discomfort.  I haven't done anything different with my diet that would cause this. Foods rich in fiber bloat me up and I stay away from foods with milk in them, and if I do eat anything w/milk, I take a lactose pill to prevent any problems.  The gas is now happening on a daily basis.  It will happen when I am not eating anything for a few hours. I have been taking gas pills to relive the gas. Also, after I eat a full meal, I am still feeling hungry which I think is the gas built up in me. I don't eat fast and I rarely drink carbonated beverages. I was wondering if this could be gastritis, which I have had before but not the same symptoms or possibly the start of IBS?  Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
