Upper Gastro pain ONLY at night (PLEASE HELP)

Hi there,
Can someone please help me? I am 33, female, non-smoker non drinker. About three years ago I started having a dull pain on upper stomach only at night but mostly if I slept on my back for a long time. After a few months and after I had refrained from sleeping on my back, the pain started on my right side of my upper stomach. Three years after, the pain is all over the upper stomach and is worse than ever. I have done all kinds of tests -gastroscopy, colonoscopy, CT-scan, ultra-sound and all came out negative for abnormality (could not see any abnormality other than gastritis which I took treatment for). This pain only comes at night, in fact most times during the day I don't even remember I have it but come night time and I am awake till 4:00 am. Does anybody have ANY idea what this could be? I am worried sick about it now (which I know is not helping) but my nights are hell. Currently, the pain wakes me up every night and the only relief I get is if I elevate the bed to a point where I am practically sitting down. Please help me. Thank you.

could be a undetected hiatal hernia, and this would explain why you feel better with the elevated bed.
my dad had same exact thing,,,have them double, double check for a hernia in the diaphram area

Did the doctors test you for GERD?  Do you have any other symptoms such as nausea, heartburn, burning throat, diarrhea,  increased pain after meals (esp. after spicy or fried foods, trouble breathing with these pain episodes?  Were you better when you were being treated for gastritis?  If the answer is "yes", and you were given medication for your acid such as Zantac or prilosec, then you might have GERD if you have some of the other symptoms associated with it. Did it get worse after you stopped taking the medication?  Depending on your answers, will determine which direction to go.
