Well, I'm scheduled for surgery next Wednesday. Wish me lots of luck! I am not excited about surgery, but am hoping this relieves my problems and makes me a happier person....I want to be normal again...
I want to be at my best to take care of my family....
thanks everyone,
Michelle
had HIDA scan today, looks like according to the results my GBEF is at 20%. What are the chances I will be directed toward surgery? Waiting on a call from my doctor but I can imagine that will take a few days...and its Thursday...so I have a feeling this is going to be a long weekend....

I will be having a HIDA scan on thursday...I really hope this sheds some light on my issues...I want to be back to normal soon....I feel so frustrated, I think people are starting to think I'm a hypochondriac..I want to be comfortable so I can start excercising and get back in shape....
Yeh, I think only blood work shows pancreatitis. Not completely sure, but I think it's hard to see the pancreas in an ultrasound. Don't quote me though.
I'm just saying you should go to the ER because they were able to give me surgery then and maybe if your liver enzymes are high they might give you surgery? I remember when I was having gallbladder attacks my liver enzymes were high.
Wouldn't blood work or the ultrasound show pancreatitis?
I remember I was having the same pain. I had horrible gallbladder attacks and the back pain with nausea. I had an ultrasound and they said I only had sludge in my gallbladder. I had to get another one and they finally saw the gallstones. I would go to the ER. I went and they found out I had pancreatitis caused by a gallstone so I got surgery.
thanks for the feedback...have a GI appt in February...but geeze...if I have more pain I might just go to the ER...but not sure that will help any..... I"m so uncomfortable....some days aren't so bad....some days like today are just torture....
I won't be able to see a Gastro doctor until february....meanwhile I'm so uncomfortable....I don't know what to do.....
I would bet money it is your gallbladder, those are classic symptoms of a bad gallbladder. But if you don't have gallstones it is a long process to try to convince the Dr's to take it out, good luck and just be persistant. It took me over a year to have my gallbladder removed.
Have you had a gallbladder ejection fraction test?:

If not, I'd request your doctor to order one. Both my husband & I had gallbladders that had all but stopped functioning (neither one of us had stones) & we were both diagnosed with the ejection fraction test (we actually had our gallbladders taken out about 6 months apart). Prior to that, the docs were just doing blood tests, stool tests, & endoscopes, which of course showed nothing. But the ejection fraction test finally did the trick & confirmed that the cause of our pain was of course, a non functioning gallbladder.
Ultrasound came back normal...no gallstones. What could be wrong...still having pain/discomfort on right side under ribs.... I also have pain on left side but was advised this was from the Gastritis I was diagnosed with earlier this year....
Need some help....
could this be food allergies....diet related???
