Upper stomach pain through to my back upon waking

I've been experiencing upper stomach pain that goes straight through out my back, right below where the ribs come together in the soft spot below the breast bone since the age of 19, 4 to 5 times a week. I'm 40 now.
At first, I was having severe constant pain, that lasted several hours. I'm always woke up in the middle of the night around 2-4 A.M., never in the daytime, unless I'm hurting through till morning. Having symptoms like, vomiting, nausea, shortness of breath, doubled over intense constant pain, out of no where. I have been rushed to the hospital, thinking I'm having a heart attack. Well, I've had an upper G.I., blood gas, ekg, eeg, nothing. Finally the dr says, you are suffering from anxiety, panic disorder. I'm like, okay. My husband suffered from Bi-Polar, so you can imagine the stress I was under. Anyway, this goes on through my second pregnacy then, when my child I was pregnant with was three months old the pain stopped for years. I had left my husband, all was well.
Now that everything is going well in my life, this pain is resurfacing. Increasing from a couple times a year to 3 times last month. Anyone have any answers as to what may be going on?
