. Since I had eaten an hour before this first happened I assumed it was some sort of heartburn (Even though my heartburn is never accompanied by anything like this.), but 5 hours went by and the feeling was still there. It got a little better, and I was able to go to sleep. I woke up this morning, and attempted to drink some water but while the water was going down, and for a few seconds after words I felt as if my throat
was having slight contractions. (which caused the lump feeling in my throat. Like it was closing up.)
Now I have this lump feeling in my throat again, and I'm not able to eat, or drink anything because it feels extremely uncomfortable like I'm going to choke.
Any suggestions? What could this be?
It's been over 10 hours, and it has not gotten any better.
This sounds very much like acid reflux problems. If that is what is going on, the lump in your throat could be 'globus' which is experienced by a lot of acid reflux suffers.
You need to call your doc to find out if you can take any medications to try to tamp down the problem, and you should also try to stick to foods that are more GERD friendly. A list of those can be found at gicare.com.
I know when I was pregnant with both my children I would wake up in the night sometimes with a choking feeling which was very scarey. I have no idea what it was, perhaps a muscle spasm in the throat? It eased off after pregnancy and now I don't get it at all. Hopefully for you it will be only while you are pregnant (I'm sure it will be).
