Changes in the size of the stool can be perfectly normalNormal saline flush. If you have week after week, however, of what is typically called 'ribbon stools' then that would be the time to check with your doc.

Hi. I had to comment on this post as I am noticing some changes in my bowel movements. I am 4 months post op from colon resectionEye muscle repair Large bowel resection Large bowel resection - series Prostate removal Small bowel resection Small bowel resection - series of sigmoid. They seem smaller around but I am wondering if that is normalNormal saline flush for me as I am not a big person. Sometimes I experience diarrhea, but I think that is related to something that I have eaten that is not agreeing with me, i.e. chips, salty stuff. I don't want to worry but it is part of my nature. I think ( or know ) that my GI and surgeon think that I am a hypo or at least a chronic worrier. I have suffered from depression and anxiety since I was a young child and am going through a tough time right now with both of them. Thank God I have an understanding shrink who understands. My GI says he would be worried if I were running a fever, vomiting, had no appetite or had chills. Thanks for all of the wonderful feedback you provide. I have read many of your posts and it helps me....
