Variety of symptoms, very worried, please help

All started at the beginning of April, after having gone in the shower, and cleaning penis, I started having very bad frequent urge to urinate. Was AWFUL for a good two weeks but has got better in time. At this moment in time it is not as bad, and I can control it somewhat. Am seeing a Urologist in June to get checked over. Also my urine stream comes out to the right( and has for as long as i can remember), could this be a factor.

But now recently on top of the above, I have been having lots of stomach noises and rumblings, especially after eating, and i know this is not because of hunger. I have some periods of abdomen pain, and often periods of flatulence. Sometimes I feel as if my bowel has maybe not completely emptied and having just gone for a number 2 i noticed blood on the toilet paper. Sometimes I also feel sick when doing physical activity. Also a lot of burping, like i have lots of excess gas.

Please any help is appreciated. I am 17 and up untill april of this year, I was normal. My waywayrd urine stream was my only worry along with all typical teenage worries and now at this moment I feel like my life is crumbling. It is getting very depressing and I just want to be normal and healthy! Sometimes i feel as though maybe i am being paranoid, but I just need proper mediacal evaluation to actually find out.

Will the uroligist be able to evaluate my other symptoms or should i go to my GP again about these other symptoms?

Please help as I'm desperate and any guidance/advice would make a difference to me in these desperate times.

Thanks.

Your an incredibly wise person indeed. Talk a lot of sense. I'm just worried as hell that I won't get better and that its something more serious. Just wanna get healthy and back to living my life. Hopefully that's not too far off.

Hey Poe,
At age 17, the likelihood of you having colon cancer at that age is about the same as a 747 crashing into your front yard this afternoon.  What the blood is, because of constipation, which is where a person will strain and push too hard to get the stuff out of their bowels, they end up with hemorrhoids, which is a temporary condition caused by blood vessels that are in the anal area getting bulged out, and then they can itch, they can tear and bleed, very annoying situation, which goes away very quickly after constipation issues and straining practices end.

Once again, life can be pretty wild sometimes, but that doesn't mean the whole thing is a waste of time.  The whole point of struggles is to make you humble.  The more humble you are, the nicer you are, and the nicer you are, the more successful you will be as you walk down your path in life.  We all have our own paths to travel, everybody has got the most horrendous stuff imaginable they're dealing with, but it's all relative.

To you, having your "waterworks" and "plumbing" fail is quite serious, but you will be a better man for it when you get past this.  It's just practice for when the really big stuff hits the fan.  Kind of like when your toilet overflows on your nice carpeting, you think it cannot be fixed.  But when you compare that to the Mississippi River sweeping your house away in a flood, well, a little **** and a little rain falls on everybody's life at one time or the other.  Life is not a fool-proof deal.  It's how you handle it that makes it good.

Just one more day to the doctor!  GG

Thanks for the help. Very kind of you indeed. Sadly I'm feeling worse now. The whole peeing deal is still present but I'm now seeing blood in my feaces and getting stomach pains and feeling sick. I'm HORRIFIED that it could be bowel cancer and not just constipation. Doctors on Wednesday as I can't take much more. What was that about life not being fair?

Dear Poe,
Sorry it took so long for someone to answer.  Yes, your urologist will be able to fully discuss with you all problems related to your peeing situation.  Just tell him everything that's bugging you, and you will feel a lot of relief being able to talk to a doctor about all these personal sorts of things.  I know it feels like your "life is crumbling," that's the way health problems affect people, freaks them out.  The older you get, the more oddball stuff happens, and eventually you get used to "the human condition."

But that's all it is, a health issue.  You probably have some sort of kidney infection that is making you pee in an abnormal way, or it could also be you might be constipated, and somehow the clogged-up bowel is restricting your pee flow.  The urologist will know about that, also.  Either way, he will have treatments for both situations, and very quickly everything will go back the way it was.

I mention the constipation because when you reported your various bowel problems, it sounded like constipation.  That's where your digestion gets sluggish on account of what you've been eating, or sometimes medications can cause it.  The waste kind of builds up and bulges in the bowels, and can affect surrounding organs, and can cause all your digestive symptoms.  In any case, while you wait to see the specialist, there are a few "natural" things you can do to begin to alleviate constipation.

The big one is drinking enough water, which would also help any kidney infection you may have.  The next one is to get enough fiber in your diet, which includes not only fruit and vegies, but also simple stuff like eating daily 100 percent whole wheat toast (no other grains in it but that), and eating cheerios every day with acidophilus milk, which at the grocery store, the carton of milk will either say "Acidophilus Milk" or it will say "Nu-Trish Milk."  That type of milk has "good" bacteria in it that helps break down waste.  You should also eat home more and eat less at fast-food or restaurant places, on account of there's a lot of fat in those foods, which is hard to digest.  The last thing is getting enough exercise.  If you've been sitting around too much, get up and go for walks several times a week, or take up tennis, some sort of physical activity should be part of your daily routine.

Do not worry too much.  You just have a health problem.  The business about peeing to the side is probably just an anatomical deal, which plenty of men have different ways of peeing, which is evidenced by how much they manage to get on the floor instead of the toilet in public restrooms.  That's sort of funny, but it's true.  That's why they invented urinals, easier to fire it in there.  Smile.

You could post over in the urology section of this website, plenty of folks have urinary problems like yours, and you might get better feedback over there.
