Vet Brother died of cirrhosis

Vet Brother died of cirrhosis

Are there any statistics on how many vets have developed severe liver problems.  My brother just died of cirrhosis of the liver, he was only diagnosed this year.   He was a veteran of Vietnam.  Last year (2009) he spent eight months in the VA with all the signs and symptons of cirrhosis but was never diagnosed with cirrhosis.  He was treated for cancer and had he been in a civilian hospital he would have been out in about two weeks.  I thought my brother would not leave the VA alive, and he almost didn't.
