Kevin MD and Vortex failed to discuss the possibility of gallbladder/liver cancer or several other serious diseases. When there are no stones, but a single polyp accompanied with wall thickening some real red flags go up. Although Voirtx's gallbladder wall thickening is elevated but within normal range there is still real concern because of a single polyp and no stones.
Just because a polyp is present, it does not automatically mean that there is anything wrong with the gallbladder. Many people have gallbladder polyps and have no problem whatsoever. Polyps in the gallbladder do not generally mean cancer, unlike polyps in other organs, like the stomach or the colon. Gallbladder polyps are generally watched - depending upon size - and if they start to grow then docs might suggest more tests or further action.
