Hi i'm new to this community. I was referred by my GP in Feb 2011 to a general surgeon. I had pain in lower left quadrant. Low back pain. Changed bowel habits, sometimes diahorrea, sometimes i found it hard to go. I was fatigued and had flu like symptoms aching all over. High temps and bloating and flatulance. Occasionally i would find blood smears on the toilet paper. I hadan appointment in April and went for a colonoscopy which failed. I had a barium enema which showed a stricture of the sigmoid and diverticula in the descending colon. I have had a failed sigmoidoscopy, A ct tomonography and a ct colonography. I'm due for a flexy sigmoidoscopy on the 2nd of Sept 11 and on the 6th sept i will have a sigmoidectomy operation. I haven't been able to work since Feb 11th. I'm really low and scared, so thought i would join you guy's. They still dont know if it's cancer. I have just been transferred to addenbrookes for my op which is in Cambridgeshire. Iam 51 years old, a mother of 3 grown kids and grandmother of 5 beautiful children. Has anyone else been through this.

Can pancreastitis turn to cancer? If have galbladder, causing stones, causing elevation of my pancreas, be removed will the problem of my prancreas elevation stop? it has been as high as 480. now showing slide elevations in my blood work. Monday setting up for MRI! Whay do it take doctors so long to get to the real problem when they have so many patients compalining about the same things. Are the GI's incompotent? I feel like a lot of doctors let us suffer too long for something that can deal with if they deal with it early on! All they have to do is listen to their
patients better! seem like a lot of people here are saying the same things, with the samee pain, same spasums etc;.. what more do a doctor need to start treatment sooner the later? We are really suffering!

I have had Multple Sclerosis for past 11 years. Due to daily pain and tingling I have used a high dose of ibuprofen daily. For last 3 years I have complained of pain around my diaphram. In last 3 months I have had stabbing pains in mid and right side. After going to ER I was put on a lowfat diet and told my gallbladder might be going. My gastroenterologist ordered ultra sound and hidascan. WHAT IS THE EFFECT OF IBUPROFEN ON THE GALLBLADDER?

i havea job in a seabase business, after my medical examination as requirement for my next vessel assignment it was found on my result that my gall bladder is norally-distended.with unthickened walls.approximately 20 echogenic foci are seen within the lumen, the largest measuring 1.2 cm.although most of these foci do not have posterior shadowing, some display weak shadowing.the pancreas is obscured,
i visit my doctor, and she referred me directly to the general surgeon,i thought that the surgeon will only take my polyps only, but when we had our conversation,he tell me that he will get my gall bladder,i agree and i been schedule for operation.but the following day i decided not to continue the operation for the moment,im planning to visit a gastroenterologist maybe there's a second opinion....
my question is that is there any second opinion about my case?
im desperate  that knowing i have a medical problem..

After I had a hystorectomy in August of 2005 I have had severe rectal pain that has worsened ever since. The has been so unbearable lately that I often have had thoughts of running my car into the concrete wall of the highway to end it. I have had 3 colonoscopies and have been to a gastrioenterologist who sent me to a Nuerologist who scheduled a lumber MRI? I have been given Lyrica for muscle spasms, Flexiril for muscle spasms, meds for IBS and I too take Ibuprofen like candy. The Nuerologist gave me Cymbalta. I am realizing that my body is reacting to any kind of stress or upset through my rectum. I get spasms if I move my bowels or not but like clockwork every time I do. Why? Perhaps because I am stressed over the fact that I am going to be in pain and I am thinking about the severity of the pain that will surely come and it does. I decided to change my thoughts. I was at court the other day and my rectum started to ache and burn and the spasms started. I cried to myself with my head down as i stared at the picture of my car that I totaled when I cross lanes on a highway and ran through a building. I turned my phone off and decided that the prosecutor will be merciful. He was and the pain stopped. I don't think about the pain when go to the bathroom anymore and I simply pop an Ibuprofen and go on with my day. Positive thinking has lessened my pain dramatically. Every time I get upset....I quickly talk myself out of reacting negatively or thinking negatively and the pain subsides. My body has been screaming inside silently through my rectum for all of the pain and stress that i have held within. Once i had that operation I knew that even if I met a man and fell madly in love I would never be able to bear him a child. Maybe I regretted it but never let it show. My body started to ache and has ached on and off...more on....every since. I still have pain...but it is bearable and I am learning to control it mentally.
