Weight ?

by MITSY, Nov 22, 2002 12:00AM
In 1992 I had exploratory surgery, They found liquid filled polyps, and yersenia. I guess thats how they are spelled. Anyway, I had 5 feet of my large intestines and 11 feet of small removed. the also removed the valve, don't know what its for. My questions are:

1. The polyps were about the size of grapefruits and they didn't show up on exrays/ that ckalk stuff, nor a sonagram. They were on the outside of my intestines, so would they show up on a light test? since they were on the outside and didn't show up the first time.

2. I an not lossing any weight I have tried to deit but I can't even get off a pound. most crohn's people have weight loss not me I am over weight and never loose any. Why?

Right there with you, I hope someone answers. I've even had hospital staff say to me ... "I thought Crohn's patients were thin, you know losing all that weight".
I lost 45lbs in 45 days and then they put me on prednisone and
after 2.5 years I'm off, but I weigh now more than ever!!!
I'm even looking into bariatric surgery, you know like Al Roker and Roseanne and Carnie Wilson.  I'm weary though, I don't want my stomach to be the size of an egg, I love food, I don't over endulge, hell since Crohn's I'm more scared of food than ever before and eat better than I ever have, but I weigh more.
I hope someone does respond to this!!!!
